Medical Coder IStatus: Full Time (40 hours per week) - Non-Exempt, Remote

Purpose and Scope of Position The Outpatient Medical Coder is responsible for accurately assigning diagnostic and procedural codes for outpatient encounters in accordance with ICD-10 and CPT guidelines. This role ensures timely, compliant coding that supports accurate reimbursement, regulatory reporting, and organizational quality standards. The Medical Coder works collaboratively with clinical teams, other medical coding specialists, and revenue cycle partners to resolve documentation issues, prevent denials, and maintain coding quality and productivity benchmarks.
Job Requirements Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- ICD-10 training appropriate to credential.
- Certification: Certification from a recognized body such as the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), or equivalent (e.g., CPC, CCS, or CCA).
- 3+ years of relevant coding experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Preferred Certifications: Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)
Working Conditions Schedule/Conditions
- Four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, Monday - Friday.
- Fully remote position, ability to work onsite if preferred.
- Work may be performed in a variety of settings to include office, patient care areas, etc.

- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
