Medical Coding Specialist to lead our coding initiatives, maximize billing opportunities, and ensure documentation accuracy across our hospital network. This role is vital to maintaining financial health while upholding our commitment to quality care and regulatory compliance.

local to the Kansas City area, combining remote work with periodic on-site collaboration.
SalaryUp to $55,000 annually, based on education and experience.

Key Responsibilities - Serve as the subject matter expert on medical coding for Camber Mental Health
- Conduct audits and code reviews to ensure accuracy and billing optimization
- Collaborate with medical providers, Utilization Review, and Accounts Receivable teams
- Educate staff on proper coding practices and documentation requirements
- Analyze and report utilization review data and trends
- Maintain current knowledge of ICD-10 coding and healthcare regulations
- Support fiscal goals through accurate coding and reduced billing errors
- Travel occasionally to collaborate with hospital teams in person
Hybrid & Location Requirement - Must be local to the Kansas City area
- Hybrid role with on-site presence required a minimum of 3 days per month, as assigned by management
- Flexibility to attend additional on-site days as needed
- Reliable transportation required
What We're Looking ForEducation - High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in Health/Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
Experience - 4-7 years of medical coding experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
Certifications (one required) - Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Certified Medical Coder (CMC)
- Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)
Additional Requirements - At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics
