This is a full time remote based position that specializes in advancing product expertise and functional skills of global medical affairs teams. The AD will serve as a therapeutic area expert (i.e., Nephrology/Immunology) by leading the training supporting the GMA Business Unit products, strategy and priorities. This role will be responsible for developing and executing the core training curriculum for a new product across all launch phases as well as training New Hire MSLs & GMA personnel supporting their therapeutic area.
In addition, this role will be integral in the support of the GMA Peak Performers series, focusing on upskilling the performance of Global Medical Affairs. This will require original idea proposals, slide development, execution and evaluation. Leading live and virtual classroom trainings will also be an important deliverable of this position.
The AD will partner and oversee regional/local Training Leads for their therapeutic area to develop tailored supplementary trainings to enrich MSL knowledge in the therapeutic landscape.
This role will work with alliance partners to positively impact their effectiveness and performance.
This position reports to the Director of Global Medical Training.
Job Description
Execute on the strategic FMA training plan deliverables that support the therapeutic area Business Unit.
Implement focused disease state and product specific educational platforms to support all Otsuka’s new product launch initiatives to ensure GMA teams are fully field-ready to support targeted launch activities & deliverables.
Develop, continuously refine, and execute the GMA new hire FMA learning curriculum for their therapeutic area (i.e., Nephrology/Immunology)
Lead virtual classrooms, competency assessments & certifications (live and virtual)
Serve as a key presenter and co-author of the Peak Performers series on the global Medical stage (live and virtual).
Work closely with Director of Global Medical Training & field excellence team in doing needs analysis to determine key performance/skill and knowledge gaps for global FMA teams and assist in the development and implementation of creative learning programs including but not limited to unique formats, content type and utilization of different media types & platforms to address these identified gaps.
Assist with the development of the ongoing scientific and functional training curriculum for GMA and create innovative programs with Brand Training Lead partners.
Serve as primary training partner within therapeutic area for all field sales training needs.
Attend all assigned Business Unit Meetings.
Assist with the planning and coordination training meetings (virtual, on-site/offsite, regional/national).
Required Qualifications
Education: Doctorate Degree required
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years field medical affairs experience (MSL), preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
Prior experience or leadership roles in training field medical affairs teams
The candidate should have experience with developing and execution of functional training workshops/content for medical affairs as well as with project management.
Must have experience with leading cross functional teams to execute strategies through direct and indirect influence
Proven ability to work within several different therapeutic areas (Nephrology/Immunology preferred)
