We are currently hiring Medical Coding Specialists – (certified or non-certified) to join our dynamic and collaborative team supporting University Physicians.   • Review complex clinical documentation and diagnostic results to accurately assign:
    • ICD-10-CM (diagnoses)
    • CPT codes (procedures)
    • Modifiers for services
  • Ensure maximum reimbursement and regulatory compliance
  • Assist with audits to identify coding issues, denials, and reimbursement opportunities
  • Serve as a liaison between departments and third-party payers
  • Support providers, residents, and staff with documentation and coding guidance
  • Help educate teams on updates to Medicare billing, federal regulations, and coding standards
  • Contribute to a culture of quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement

  • Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy
  • Strong knowledge of coding guidelines and compliance

Required Certification (one of the following):

  • Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA); or
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC/CPC-A)
  • Certified Outpatient Coder (COC/COC-A)
  • Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC/CIC-A) by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC); orΒ 

Specialty certification per the department needs such as:

  • Radiation Oncology Certified Coder (ROCC) by the American Medical Accounting and Consulting Inc (AMAC)

Β Preferred:

  • Medical office technology, or a related background
  • CPC or CCS-P preferred.
