Your Responsibilities:
- Code and abstract patient encounters, including diagnostic and procedural details, along with significant reportable elements and complications
- Research and analyze data needs for optimal reimbursement
- Review medical records to identify and address documentation deficiencies
- Assign codes for reimbursement while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Investigate discrepancies and create a strategy to rectify issues and prevent future coding errors
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of financial and protected patient files
- Handle physician credentialing
- Serve as a coding consultant to staff and providers
What We Are Looking For:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- CPC, CCSP, RIT, or similar certification required
- At least 2 years of experience in a comparable role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills capable of managing sensitive situations
- Availability for full-time hours (40/week)
- Primary location: Appleton-Westhill Clinic
