Qualifications

• 2 + years of billing and coding experience
• Billing/Coding Certification is a plus
• High level of professionalism and work ethics
• Strong Customer Service Skills
• Strong understanding of insurance billing processes and denials
• Multiple EMR and billing software experience
• Highly motivated and well-organized with attention to detail
• Team player with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
• Takes initiative to solve problems and complete projects

Responsibilities

• CPT, HCPS, ICD10 coding and Medical Terminology experience
• Posting of Electronic and manual Claims
• Verifying Health Insurance Coverage when needed
• Posting of Insurance/Patient Payments
• Efficient and timely resolution of claim denials
• Make outbound calls and access payer portals to check claim statuses and payment discrepancies
• Review, correct and Appeal Unpaid and Denied Claims
• Answering Patient's Billing Questions
• Identify and Bill Secondary or Tertiary Insurances
• Maintain detailed records document all interactions with patients, providers and insurance companies
• Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve billing issues
• Assist in the management of medical records to ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA compliance standards
• Other Varies Duties as needed
