What We're Looking For:

We seek certified and experienced inpatient coders with a keen attention to detail and a solid grasp of medical terminology. This is a fully remote position with flexible hours, allowing you to work at your convenience while making an impact in the healthcare sector!

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.

  • Abstract and sequence medical codes from patient records, ensuring strict compliance with documentation standards.

  • Oversee and audit coding work of Level 1 & 2 Coders when applicable.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for documentation improvement and resolve coding discrepancies.

  • Maintain a 95% accuracy rate in coding and MS-DRG assignments.

  • Consistently meet productivity benchmarks as set by site-specific standards.

  • Engage professionally with team members, management, and hospital personnel addressing clinical and reimbursement issues.

Requirements for Success:

  • A minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient coding experience within a healthcare facility.

  • Preferred credentials include CCS, RHIT, or RHIA.

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

What Sets You Apart:

  • A degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program or completion of an AHIMA/AAPC certificate program, preferably CCS.

  • At least 3 years of inpatient coding experience in a Level I Trauma Center or academic medical facility.

  • Experience in managing substantial coding quality review feedback.

  • Familiarity with electronic coding and abstracting software.

The salary range for this role differs based on various factors including location, responsibilities, skills, and experience. The estimated hourly rate is between $32 and $42 USD.
