What We're Looking For:
We seek certified and experienced inpatient coders with a keen attention to detail and a solid grasp of medical terminology. This is a fully remote position with flexible hours, allowing you to work at your convenience while making an impact in the healthcare sector!
Your Key Responsibilities:
Accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
Abstract and sequence medical codes from patient records, ensuring strict compliance with documentation standards.
Oversee and audit coding work of Level 1 & 2 Coders when applicable.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for documentation improvement and resolve coding discrepancies.
Maintain a 95% accuracy rate in coding and MS-DRG assignments.
Consistently meet productivity benchmarks as set by site-specific standards.
Engage professionally with team members, management, and hospital personnel addressing clinical and reimbursement issues.
Requirements for Success:
A minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient coding experience within a healthcare facility.
Preferred credentials include CCS, RHIT, or RHIA.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
What Sets You Apart:
A degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program or completion of an AHIMA/AAPC certificate program, preferably CCS.
At least 3 years of inpatient coding experience in a Level I Trauma Center or academic medical facility.
Experience in managing substantial coding quality review feedback.
Familiarity with electronic coding and abstracting software.

The salary range for this role differs based on various factors including location, responsibilities, skills, and experience. The estimated hourly rate is between $32 and $42 USD.
