As the Associate Director of Medical Affairs, you will be at the forefront of engaging with the medical and scientific communities. This pivotal role focuses on establishing and maintaining relationships with leading experts in pediatric neurology and epilepsy. Reporting directly to the Medical Director of the Orphan Drug Division, you will significantly contribute to our mission of enhancing pediatric healthcare.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and foster professional relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs) to establish robust state-level networks.
- Ensure the ethical and timely communication of clinical and scientific information pertaining to both marketed and pipeline compounds to healthcare providers.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to implement clinical and educational strategies, including organizing training sessions, conferences, and symposiums at medical centers and scientific congresses across the U.S.
- Play an influential role in organizing impactful medical communication activities for currently marketed drugs.
- Assist in departmental projects as directed by the Medical Officer.
- Promptly report pharmacovigilance, product quality, or medical information requests according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Facilitate seamless communication of competitive and scientific intelligence to both medical and leadership teams.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of KEE/HCP interactions using company software, ensuring weekly updates.
- Align KEE/HCP educational and research inquiries with the latest emerging clinical data.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD), with consideration for DNP or equivalent clinical experience.
- A minimum of 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry in a field-based medical role such as MSL, providing strategic guidance to business units.
- Experience in rare diseases, neurology, or pediatrics is advantageous.
- Familiarity with FDA Regulations and Medical Affairs SOPs and Guidelines.
- Ability to respond effectively to stakeholder needs and manage expectations, demonstrating strong project management skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and understanding of clinical databases.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to excel under deadlines in a dynamic environment while remaining adaptable.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to facilitate effective discussions in meetings and cross-functional teams.
- Project management experience is a plus.
EDUCATION:
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree preferred (MD, PharmD, PhD).
