This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite with potential travel requirements.

  • Conduct complex tests across various domains including chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, and bacteriological analyses.
  • Examine body fluids and cells for analysis, including blood matching for transfusions.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) standards for blood product maintenance.
  • Analyze chemical content in fluids, including drug levels in the bloodstream.
  • Prepare specimens for cell counting and assess for abnormalities in blood and bodily fluids.
  • Relay test results to physicians for clinical decision-making.
  • Culture body fluid and tissue samples to identify microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and parasites.
  • Evaluate chemical reactions and concentrations of elements like glucose and cholesterol.
  • Develop and modify testing procedures and oversee programs to ensure test accuracy.
  • Implement universal safety precautions to shield yourself and coworkers from biohazardous materials.
  • Manage inventory by ordering necessary supplies and upholding a secure and clean laboratory environment.
  • Supervise laboratory operations, providing guidance and leadership to other medical technologists and technicians.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a formal Medical Technology training program.
  • Certification from American Medical Technologist (AMT), American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel, Inc. (NCA).
  • Current BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Medical Technologist required.
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role.
  • Clinical experience in direct patient care within the last 12 months is essential.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities, attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent communication.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with common office equipment.
  • Ability to adapt to shifts and changes in work requirements based on operational priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to efficiently address inquiries.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident residing in the U.S. for three of the past five years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current adjudicated Department of Homeland Security clearance.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Work is typically performed in an office environment.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
