We compete on results./ph3Purpose Of The Position/h3pTo accurately code Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) cases by reviewing surgical reports and monitoring logs, ensuring appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS code assignment. This role also involves reviewing payer guidelines and working closely with other revenue cycle departments to ensure compliance, minimize denials and support accurate reimbursement./ph3Essential Job Functions/h3ulliReview surgical reports, neuromonitoring logs, and related clinical documentation to assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for IONM cases./liliEnter codes accurately and timely into our billing system./liliApply current coding guidelines and payer-specific requirements to ensure coding accuracy and compliance./liliVerify documentation supports the codes assigned and meets billing and regulatory standards./liliCollaborate with other departments including third party accounts receivable, compliance, and IONM clinical staff to resolve discrepancies and clarify documentation./liliIdentify trends or issues in coding or documentation and escalate as needed to leadership./liliComplete coding reviews and provide timely responses to the accounts receivable team, providing documentation support for appeals and denials./liliMaintain productivity and accuracy standards as defined by the department./liliStay up to date with changes in coding rules, payer policies, and CMS regulations related to IONM./liliProtect patient privacy by adhering to HIPAA and all confidentiality regulations./liliBuild good rapport with team and other SpecialtyCare departments./liliProvide clients with exceptional customer service./liliLive the SpecialtyCare Values Integrity, Teamwork, Sense of Urgency Continuous Improvement./liliPerform other duties as assigned./li/ulh3Education/h3ulliCertified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Professional Coder-Apprentice (CPC-A) certification required./li/ulh3Experience:/h3ulliOne (1) years of related experience./liliAn equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable./li/ulh3Knowledge And Skills:/h3ulliAbility to perform work accurately and thoroughly./liliAbility to type at least 60 WPM/liliAbility to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem./liliAbility to communicate effectively with others using spoken word./liliAbility to communicate in writing clearly and concisely./liliAbility to take care of the customers needs while following company procedures./liliAbility to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task./liliAbility to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal./liliAbility to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals./liliAbility to formulate a sound decision using the available information./liliPossessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task./liliAbility to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of ones ability using his or her own drive or initiative./liliAbility to show consideration for and maintain good relations with others./liliAbility to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations./liliProficient with a computer and good knowledge and understanding of MS office programs, and email./liliProficient with general office equipment./li/ulh3Physical Demands Work Environment/h3pThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential duties of this job, which may vary by location.
