About the Role:

Join our innovative healthcare information management team as a Lead Inpatient Medical Coder. This pivotal position is essential in connecting clinical data with technology, driving the development of advanced AI solutions for medical coding and billing. You will leverage your expertise to significantly influence our product development initiatives.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of extensive experience in inpatient medical coding within a hospital setting.

  • Expertise in accurately identifying and extracting ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS/CPT codes, and their modifiers from patient records.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the evidence requirements for precise coding.

  • Hands-on experience with grouper software for MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignment.

  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with the billing department on coding-related matters.

  • Up-to-date with the latest ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS/CPT coding guidelines and changes.

  • Familiarity with coding software such as 3M 360 or Optum HIM encoder is advantageous.

  • AHIMA Certified RHIA or RHIT certification is required.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management (HIM) is necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with product management and engineering teams to enhance AI models for coding purposes.

  • Utilize your deep coding knowledge to train and verify AI systems in extracting relevant codes from various clinical documentation.

  • Assist in crafting AI algorithms for accurate MS-DRG generation to secure appropriate reimbursement.

  • Engage in data collection, entry, validation, and analysis to assess the effectiveness of AI models against set business objectives.

  • Act as a subject matter expert, ensuring the excellence and reliability of medical coding data for product development.

Compensation and Benefits:

U.S. salary range: $75,000 to $178,100 annually, with potential for bonuses and equity. Our benefits encompass:
