Responsibilities Running daily reports for incomplete physician charges and notes for review. Once appropriately reviewed throughout the day you will send correspondence to providers on items for completion and will follow up appropriately. Reminding healthcare providers on proper workflows to ensure notes and charges are completed timely. Review daily worksheets or queues to add appropriate clinical ICD codes to patients’ charts for laboratory, radiology, procedures, and treatments. Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations and guidelines. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnosis and procedure information. Maintain and update coding guidelines and documentation for accuracy. Stay current with coding updates and industry changes. Provide coding guidance and education to healthcare staff where appropriate. Qualifications Certified professional coder (CPC) certification required. Associate’s degree required. Experience working in the healthcare field, preferably in a business office. Experience in insurance requirements and medical terminology, ICD‑10 and CPT coding. Experience in billing practice management systems, electronic medical record systems, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Ability to multitask, problem‑solve, utilize basic math skills and follow complex instructions. Must have ability to converse in a calm and friendly manner. Able to relate and comfort patients during a difficult time. Benefits Starting Salary: $27/hr.
