Marshall Health Network's Health Information Management department is seeking a PRN Coder Analyst IV.
System Specific Duties And Responsibilities Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and/or HCPCS for reimbursement, compliance, and reporting purposes.
Utilize coding guidelines established by government agencies related to health information coding.
Maintain high standards of quality and productivity, focusing on quality results first.
Maintain a productivity rate that meets or exceeds 98%.
Maintain an accuracy rate that meets or exceeds 95%.
Possess proficient to expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS, MS-DRG, and APR-DRG groupers, as well as Medicare’s IPPS and OPPS systems.
Mentor new hires and participate in cross-training of coding staff as needed.
Participate in departmental meetings and complete required educational sessions for credential maintenance.
Contribute to efforts to reduce DNFC (Did Not Finalize Claims).
Use resources responsibly and efficiently, managing time effectively.
Demonstrate competency in all necessary computer systems and applications.
Understand and adhere to compliance issues, including the corporate compliance plan and ethical coding standards.
Collaborate with various departments to resolve coding issues and improve processes.
Maintain strong interpersonal communication skills, honesty, and confidentiality.
Analyze and interpret complex data effectively.
Be flexible and adaptable to changing work demands.
Refer coding concerns to supervisors and uphold high ethical standards.
Value diversity and adhere to the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) ethical standards.
