Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWho is Athra Systems?Athra Systems / Crosstown Mental Health is a dynamic and forward-thinking organization dedicated to offering a wide array of behavioral health services and solutions.We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment where every team member can thrive and contribute to our collective success.Previously, a private pay company, we are now expanding to accept insurance to help more people, and the whole company is quickly adapting.Position Overview :We are seeking a Medical Biller with comprehensive knowledge of behavioral health insurance billing.The Medical Biller will be responsible for the accurate and timely billing of all professional and facility services claims, ensuring all billing activities comply with applicable regulations.In this role, you will work closely with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues.If you have expertise in every step of the billing process, from intake to final payment, and are looking to join a rapidly growing company where you can specialize in a specific billing function, this is an excellent opportunity.Key Responsibilities :Billing and Coding :Review medical records to assign appropriate billing codes (ICD 10, CPT, HCPCS) for procedures and diagnoses.Claims Submission :Prepare and submit accurate and timely insurance claims to insurance companies.Insurance Verification :Verify patients' insurance coverage and eligibility for services.Follow-up :Monitor unpaid claims and follow up with insurance companies and patients to ensure prompt payment.Payment Posting :Record payments received and reconcile accounts.Denials Management :Investigate and appeal claim denials as necessary.Patient Billing :Generate patient statements and answer billing inquiries.Qualifications :Education :High school diploma or GED required, associate's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred.Experience :Must have behavioral health billing experienceHealthcare Payment posting experienceFamiliarity with claims software and clearinghousesFamiliarity with both governmental and commercials insurance plansUnderstanding of UB-04 and 1500 formsExperience with denial and appeal processesAbility to review and interpret EOBs and reason codesAbility to learn new software quicklyUnderstanding of HIPAAProfessional communication skillsSkills and Abilities :Strong understanding of medical billing codes (CPT, ICD-10) and insurance reimbursement processes.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Team player who can also work independentlyProficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Knowledge of Tebra Software preferred but not required.What We Offer :Competitive salaryCompany-paid health insurance (medical, dental, vision)Retirement plan with employer contributionPaid Time OffSupportive and collaborative work environment.Athra Systems / Crosstown Mental Health is an equal opportunity employer..
