Key Personnel is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join a multi-specialty practice in the Tulsa, OK area.
Medical Biller Hours: 7:30 am to 5:00 pm M-Th, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm Fri
Medical Biller Pay: $16-$20/hr, DOE
Medical Biller Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payment posting, accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up, and resolving claim discrepancies to ensure accurate reimbursement. This role requires precision, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Medical Biller Responsibilities:
- Accurately post payments, adjustments, and denials from insurance carriers and patients into the billing system.
- Reconcile daily deposits and ensure that all payments are applied correctly.
- Perform thorough A/R follow-up on outstanding claims, including investigating unpaid or underpaid claims.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and rejections to expedite reimbursement.
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain claim statuses and clarify payment issues.
- Prepare and submit corrected claims or appeals as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient account information.
- Generate and review aging reports to prioritize follow-up efforts.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure coding, documentation, and billing accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and all payer-specific billing guidelines.
Medical Biller Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; additional billing or healthcare administration training preferred.
- 1–2 years of medical billing experience, specifically in payment posting and A/R follow-up.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies, EOBs, ERAs, and billing terminology.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
