Non-Medical Counseling Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Non-Medical Counseling Supervisor to lead our team in providing exceptional support to military service members and their families. In this role, you will oversee direct reports who deliver resources, referrals, and consultations on Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and various work/life issues. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by training, coaching, and mentoring your team to handle high-risk calls with professionalism and care.

  • Oversee the hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and evaluation of direct reports to ensure excellence in service delivery.

  • Ensure that performance standards are consistently met or exceeded while collaborating with both internal and external partners for optimal service efficiency.

  • Act as a liaison between internal departments, and assist in developing and implementing effective policies and procedures.

  • Facilitate training sessions to empower staff with the necessary skills and knowledge.

  • Engage in staff meetings and clinical conferences to promote team cohesion and professional development.

  • Support quality and risk management initiatives to meet call center performance metrics.

  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation within the case management system (CMS).

  • Assist team members in deescalating calls, navigating resources, resolving complex issues, and managing crisis situations effectively.

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of military culture while providing empathic listening and appropriate clinical interventions.

  • Adhere to established protocols and fulfill all compliance requirements, including annual training and certification renewals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work, Family Therapy, Counseling, or a related human services field.

  • Unrestricted state licensure to practice independently (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) is required; Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) is a plus.

  • At least 3 years of post-graduate experience in counseling, social work, or mental health services, along with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role. Experience with military or Veterans populations is preferred.

Desired Skills:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Knowledge of mandated procedures for child and elder abuse situations.

  • Familiarity with core service areas such as child development, parenting, adoption, education, and services for older adults.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and accurate typing ability (50 wpm).

  • Excellent organization and time management skills are essential.

  • Must comply with all HIPAA regulations and be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Compensation Range:

Compensation for this position ranges from $62,200 to $96,000, adjusted based on factors such as location, skillset, and years of experience.
