Job Title: Revenue Cycle Manager

Position Summary
Allergy & Asthma Associates of Maine is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Revenue Cycle Manager to lead and optimize our billing operations. This role is central to our transition from outsourced billing with Quest National Services to an in-house model. The Revenue Cycle Manager will be responsible for claims processing, denial management, payment posting, and reporting, while coordinating with internal staff and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Cycle Oversight
- Manage the full revenue cycle process including charge capture, claims submission, payment posting, denial resolution, and patient billing.
- Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, HIPAA, CMS, and Medicaid regulations.
- Monitor and report on KPIs including days in A/R, denial rates, and collection percentages.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise internal billing staff including part-time and per diem billers.
- Provide direct supervision and support to the Patient Care Coordinators, ensuring alignment between front-end patient interactions and back-end billing workflows.
- Act as liaison between providers and front desk staff
- Train staff on billing workflows, coding updates, and reporting tools.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain custom reports to track revenue cycle performance.
- Collaborate with leadership to present financial insights and operational recommendations.
- Lead annual CPT code crosswalk updates in partnership with internal staff.
Strategic Planning
- Support the transition to a fully in-house billing model by evaluating staffing needs and performance.
- Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities to reduce revenue leakage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Strong knowledge of payer requirements, clearinghouse operations, and denial management.
- Experience with AthenaNet, eCW, or similar EMR/PM systems preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
