JOB SUMMARY: Hours: Monday - Friday 7am-5pm (Flexible) - Transitioning to hybrid soon Location: North Phoenix. 1929 W Lone Cactus Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85027 The Medical Biller provides comprehensive advanced billing support to Pathology Billing Services, LLC to enhance the generation of accurate insurance and patient billing claims and statements. All employees are responsible for supporting the company's goals and mission, by following all company policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Acts as coordinator for information needed to enter patient demographics and medical procedures into billing database. * Maintains updated knowledge of insurance payors billing addresses and requirements to produce an accurate claim. * Maintains data flow at required intervals as follows: * Electronic data - processed not more than 21 days from date of service. * Manual data processed within 48 hours of receipt. * A daily volume of processed billings, equivalent to 5% of a monthly volume - must be processed. Exceptions to this volume must be authorized by billing manager. * Minimum hourly volume of 25 demographic records with charges. * Adheres to all office procedures and guidelines. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: * Assist with answering incoming calls and resolve issue or forward to appropriate person as needed. * Assist with filing as needed. * Assist with mailing of claims and correspondence as needed. * Completing status reports - daily and weekly or as instructed. * Maintain all logs for incoming and outgoing data flows. Accounting for all facility volumes and daily charges. Immediately reporting any unexpected fluctuations to the billing manager. * Checking voicemail messages and returning calls as needed. * Balancing all data entered to predetermined totals and providing 10-key tapes as verification. * All other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * One year of advanced billing support experience in a corporate setting. * Knowledge of business software including word processing, spreadsheets and application presentations. * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to be utilized in interfacing with all levels of management. * Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple and diverse priorities simultaneously, meeting deadlines as required. * Ability to handle highly confidential information. * Ability to exercise independent judgment. * Knowledge of standard office equipment. * Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds and sit for long periods of time.
