Duties of the medical coder: * Apply ICD-10 codes to complex inpatient visits with long hospital stays * Using documentation, assign Present on Admission values to secondary diagnoses * Review provider notes within the health record * Verify discharge planning and nurse documentation which impact reimbursement * Review and verify health record documentation to verify reimbursement and payment amounts Requirements of the medical coder: * Minimum of 3 years of complex trauma-type medical coding experience required * Current CCS through AHIMA required What to expect as the medical coder: * M-F 8am-5pm schedule, NO weekends * Remote capability * Benefits include fully paid health insurance, fully paid life insurance, fully paid long and short term disability, PTO and paid holidays, 401k with match, and more * Pay starting at $35/hour with some flexibility for the right experience * Performance bonuses If you have extensive experience with highly complex trauma medical coding we want to speak with you asap!
