Job Summary
Under the direction of the Center Manager, monitors coding and reimbursement activities with respect to the EMHR clinics. Secures, maintains, and distributes the most current coding information, and implements changes. Provides billing/operational support to, and completes special projects for the Clinic Manager and/or Manager for Clinic Operations as requested. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
Average work station area with normal levels of noise. Minimal physical exertion. Must be able to work with constant interruptions. This position does not involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. independently.
Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare related field preferred.
Experience: At least one (1) year of coding and billing experience required demonstrating knowledge in CPT and ICD coding.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Personal terminals, calculators, PC and printers, and copier. Excellent communication skills. In-depth knowledge of coding practices and third-party payor requirements.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
Medical Record Certification as a CPC required.
