Travel will likely be required.*** Duties and Responsibilities Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests. Examine and analyze body fluids and cells; match blood for transfusions. Maintain blood products according to the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) requirements. Analyze chemical content of fluids and test for drug levels in blood. Prepare specimens, count cells, and identify abnormal cells in blood and body fluids. Analyze test results and communicate findings to physicians. Culture body fluids and tissue samples to detect microorganisms. Test samples for chemical content or reactions; determine concentrations like blood glucose and cholesterol. Evaluate test results, develop and modify procedures, and monitor programs for test accuracy. Use universal safety precautions to protect against biohazardous materials, including blood-borne pathogens. Order and stock supplies; maintain a safe, clean working environment. Keep patient records, maintain lab equipment, prepare work schedules, evaluate equipment purchases, or manage the lab department. Provide supervision or act as Lead for the lab, guiding other technologists and technicians. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications Complete a formal Medical Technology training program leading to a Bachelor's Degree. Be certified by AMT, ASCP, or NCA. Maintain current BLS certification. Have at least 5 years' experience as a Medical Technologist. Have at least 1 year experience in a Lead role. Possess current clinical experience in direct patient care, with at least 6 months in the last 12 months in the desired field. Be able to multitask, be detail-oriented, organized, and communicate effectively. Proficient with computers, MS Office, and common office equipment. Adapt to changes and flexible in work requirements, including shift changes. Strong problem-solving skills. Proficient in English communication skills. Physical Requirements and Work Conditions Work is typically performed in an office environment. Sitting and standing for prolonged periods may be required.
