Job Description

Medical Management Systems of Michigan, Inc (MMSM) seeks a dynamic General Manager to provide leadership for their team of 15 Healthcare IT and Practice Management professionals.  MMSM is a company which has served physicians and EMS providers for over 40 years. Our products and services provide clients with solutions to their medical billing, human capital, operations, technology, and practice management needs. The successful candidate must have demonstrated expertise with operational excellence, team development and building strong client relationships. 

The General Manager will work as part of the senior management team for Medical Management Systems.  The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a collaborative spirit.  This position will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the organization as well as contributing to long-term planning.  This role connects with senior leadership to formulate and execute the general strategy of improving overall business functions and performance, helping to generate revenue, and to ensure smooth and effective service to clients.  The GM has responsibility for the human resources functions enabling all staff to excel in their roles. This role reports to the CEO and provides oversight to the Billing, Consulting, and Credentialling teams.

Job Responsibilities

Leadership:

  • Work closely with other senior management to improve efficiency and performance, including re-organization as needed.
  • Improve internal processes for increased productivity
  • Ensure that departments deliver quality to clients through monitoring of outputs as compared to benchmarks and established goals
  • Oversee large projects and interpret performance reports
  • Manage departmental budgets, forecast finances, and analyze performance metrics
  • Report on performance measures to senior management team

 

Business Development:

  • Contribute to developing new business opportunities
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and client needs
  • Promote products and services

Human Resources:

  • Promote a healthy, thriving, happy working environment
  • Develop key performance goals and manage the performance review process
  • Manage the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training and offboarding processes
  • Create effective succession plan for key positions
  • Process Payroll using PayChex system
  • Manage benefit administration processes
  • Ensure employee policies are up-to-date and legally compliant

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred with 5-7 years of senior leadership experience
  • Ability to effectively supervise and coach teams
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally both verbally and in writing 
  • Ability to present complex information in a concise, understandable format
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with others
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while managing multiple tasks, projects, and timelines
  • Ability to use data and analytical skills to proactively identify opportunities, set priorities and solve problems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe and web-based finance and HR applications

Compensation

MMSM offers a dynamic, challenging work environment with ample opportunity for growth and impact.  The total compensation and benefit package for this position is a competitive one which includes the flexibility to work remotely on a limited basis.
