Medical Billing Representative

The Medical Billing Representative will play an essential role in the Revenue Cycle.

• Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing
• Identify, verify, and bill secondary or tertiary insurance
• Research previously processed claims and work rejected claims for timely re-submission.
• Identify billing patterns, processing errors and/or system issues that inhibit the final adjudication of claims and report to the Revenue Cycle
• Research, resolve, and respond to claim re-submission appeals and inquires
• Review system-generated work queues, reports, and/or aged balances to resolve accounts that have not been paid 
• Exhibits proficiency in accurately posting payments and adjustments to patient accounts in accordance with current policies
• Assists in Identifying and processing refunds to patients and insurance companies
• Documents account activities in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with quality standards.
• Be familiar with and follow all applicable Medicare and Medicaid regulations
• Applies a high knowledge of respective insurance billing regulations and guidelines 
• Other duties as assigned
