A busy Ophthalmology Practice in beautiful Bedminster, NJ is looking for someone who is eager and excited to join a team of exceptional doctors, clinical staff and supportive administrative staff. This is the perfect opportunity for a Medical Biller to grow with a very successful, constantly growing Ophthalmogy Practice. A dedicated, organized and skilled Medical Biller who is adaptable and willing to be trained for this specialty would be welcomed.

General Summary: This management position is responsible for coordinating and directing the overall functions of the medical billing and coding of the office to ensure maximum and consistent cash flow. The position requires strong leadership qualities, business skills and attention to detail.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Oversees the operations of the billing department, encompassing medical coding, charge entry, claim submission, posting payments, and account receivable follow-up

2. Practice expert and go to person for all coding and billing issues.

3. Reviews billing and claims for accuracy and completeness; directs and submits claims to proper insurance companies and follow up on any issues.

4. Performs follow up on outstanding claims

5. Continually audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of billing and collection operation.

6. Participates in the development and implementation of office policies and protocols.

7. Examines trends impacting charges, coding, collections and accounts receivable; takes appropriate measures to educate staff and revise policies and procedures.

8. Understands and remains current with updated coding and billing regulations and compliance requirements.

9. Keeps a library of information/tools related to documentation guidelines and coding.

10. Provides training for new and existing staff on applicable policies, protocols, systems, and procedures.

11. Prepares and reviews accounts receivable reports.

12. Performs other miscellaneous job-related assignments as requested

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
