FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/ Full-Time

Salary: $36-40 per hour

Job Summary

StreamlineMD is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CIRCC Coder to join our coding team. The CIRCC Coder is responsible for accurately coding and abstracting interventional radiology, cardiovascular procedures, and related services from medical records, ensuring compliance with established coding guidelines and regulations. This role is critical in supporting the revenue cycle by ensuring the correct coding and billing for complex procedures.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately code interventional radiology, cardiovascular procedures as assigned using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems in compliance with coding guidelines and payer requirements. This includes working knowledge of LCD, NCDs, NCCI manual and edits, MUE edits. Locations of service include OBL, ASC, facility and global billing.
  • Thoroughly review medical records, operative reports, and other relevant documentation to ensure that all services are accurately documented and coded including drugs as appropriate. This position will assist with coding related denials from payers.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and guidelines related to coding and billing practices.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure coding accuracy and compliance, and implement corrective actions as needed. Provide written and oral education to clients.
  • Collaborate with billing, reimbursement, and clinical staff to resolve coding-related issues and optimize the revenue cycle process.
  • Provide ongoing education and training to clinical and coding staff.
  • Keep up to date with changes in coding regulations, guidelines, and best practices by participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC) certification is required.
  • Completion of associates for bachelor’s degree in health information management or equivalent years of experience in the field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of coding experience in interventional radiology, cardiovascular procedures, vascular procedures and wound care.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).
  • Proficient in the use of EHR systems, coding software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Running reports in company systems for data analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing policies.
  • Previous experience in coding audits and compliance reviews.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with administrative and clinical staff.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and work collaboratively with others.
  • Competence to identify, analyze, and resolve coding issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment and exercise independent judgment.

Additional Certifications

Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Radiology Certified Coder (RCC), Radiology Certified Coder in Interventional Radiology (RCCIR) or other related coding certifications. Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) (AHIMA)
