Title: Pro Fee Coder

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Outpatient Coder with Multi-Specialty Surgery experience to join one of our clients. This position requires expertise in assigning accurate diagnostic and procedural codes for outpatient surgical procedures across multiple medical specialties. surgical procedures, medical coding guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Review outpatient surgical documentation across multiple medical specialties including but not limited to orthopedics, general surgery, neurosurgery, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, and plastic surgery.

  • Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes to accurately reflect the procedures performed, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.

  • Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to ensure documentation supports the assigned codes and captures all relevant diagnoses and procedures.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other coding team members to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.

  • Stay on top of changes to coding guidelines, regulations, and reimbursement policies related to outpatient surgery coding across various specialties.

  • Participate in coding education and training programs to enhance coding knowledge and proficiency in multi-specialty outpatient surgery coding.

  • Perform regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with coding and billing policies.

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

  • Provide coding expertise and support to other members of the coding and billing team as needed.

 

Location Requirements:

Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Indiana, Virginia, Nebraska, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina

 

Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in outpatient surgery coding across multiple medical specialties.

  • Experience in various specialities (orthopedics, general surgery, neurosurgery, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, and plastic surgery)

  • Proficiency in using encoding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

  • Commitment to maintaining coding accuracy, integrity, and compliance with coding and billing regulations.

  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer regulations and reimbursement methodologies.
