An Ophthalmology Practice is seeking a motivated individual to join their team of physicians, clinical personnel, and dedicated administrative staff. Summary:
As the Billing Manager, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of medical billing and coding operations, ensuring optimal and consistent cash flow. This pivotal role demands strong leadership, business acumen, and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise billing department operations, including medical coding, charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up.
  2. Serve as the in-house expert for coding and billing matters.
  3. Scrutinize billing and claims for accuracy and completeness; manage claim submissions to appropriate insurance entities and address any issues.
  4. Conduct follow-up on outstanding claims.
  5. Conduct ongoing audits of current procedures to enhance billing and collection efficiency.
  6. Contribute to the formulation and implementation of office policies and protocols.
  7. Analyze trends impacting charges, coding, collections, and accounts receivable; educate staff and revise policies and procedures accordingly.
  8. Stay abreast of updated coding and billing regulations and compliance standards.
  9. Maintain a repository of resources related to documentation guidelines and coding.
  10. Provide comprehensive training for new and existing staff on relevant policies, protocols, systems, and procedures.
  11. Generate and review accounts receivable reports.
  12. Undertake additional miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Coding experience; familiarity with Ophthalmology is advantageous.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in electronic billing processes.
