Job Description


  • Minimum Requirements:
    • 2+ to 5 years of experience in a medical office setting.
    • Comprehensive understanding of the revenue cycle and accounts receivable.
    • Proficiency in medical terminology including CPT and ICD-10 coding.
    • Previous involvement in cash collections and reconciliation.
    • Strong communication skills and accurate data entry skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Supervisory experience, including training, process enhancement, and employee scheduling.
  • Ability to conduct staff meetings and participate in committees or work groups.
  • Proficiency in conducting employee evaluations.
  • Three years of experience in Patient Access and/or Patient Financial Services.

      Proficiency in project management and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
      Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and bilingual capability.
    • Knowledge of State and Federal Regulatory requirements and JCAHO standards.

The Supervisor oversees all Patient Access employees and their duties. Responsibilities include providing Meditech training for all ADM users, ensuring compliance with payer and regulatory requirements, and maintaining quality assurance. The Supervisor may need to cover open shifts as required. Collaboration with other hospital departments and external customers is essential for achieving departmental and organizational goals.

We seek candidates with previous management or supervisory experience to help promote and grow our Patient Access Department. Strong leadership skills are essential, and experience in medical billing/coding or patient access/registration is highly desirable.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Schedule preparation and ensuring adequate coverage.
  2. Monitoring productivity and quality of work.
  3. Development and maintenance of policies and procedures.
  4. Daily census verification to ensure accuracy.
  5. Monitoring and rectifying duplicate medical record numbers and insurance errors.
