- Physicians Surgical Hospitals includes two surgical centers - Panhandle Surgical Hospital and Quail Creek Surgical Hospital, and one physical therapy center - Quail Creek Physical Therapy - and a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center, Advanced Imaging Center of Amarillo.
Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, responsible for abstracting medical information and assigning ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, and CPT codes to the medical records to facilitate billing and retrieval of medical information used by various agencies.
Qualifications:
- High School education.
- Associate Degree in HIT or equivalent experience.
- Familiar with ICD-9-CM and CPT coding principles, as well as Medicare and Medicaid regulations regarding coding.
- Two (2) years' experience in ICD-9-CM and CPT coding.
- RHIT or equivalent experience OR CCS or equivalent experience.
- Hospital coding experience
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Medicare coding experience.
