Job Summary
We are seeking a Certified Medical Coder to join our remote healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have strong medical coding knowledge and must hold at least one recognized certification from AAPC or AHIMA . The candidate should be detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of working independently in a work-from-home environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review medical records and clinical documentation to accurately assign medical codes.
Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on documentation.
Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with applicable healthcare and payer guidelines.
Identify documentation discrepancies and request clarification when necessary.
Maintain productivity and quality standards.
Safeguard confidential patient and healthcare information.
Complete assigned coding work within established timelines.
Communicate effectively with team members while working remotely.
Required Qualifications
AAPC or AHIMA certification is mandatory.
Valid certification such as CPC, CCS, CCA, or another applicable AAPC/AHIMA credential .
Medical coding experience and knowledge of standard coding practices.
Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage daily workload.
Remote Work Requirements
Must be able to work remotely from anywhere within the United States .
Candidate must have their own computer/system and reliable internet connection suitable for work.
Must be available to work 6 hours per day / 30 hours per week .
Candidate should have a suitable, professional work environment for remote work.
Candidates must successfully complete a background verification (BGV) .
A clean background verification is required for employment.
AAPC or AHIMA certification is mandatory. Candidates without either certification will not be considered.
