Medical Biller And CoderWoodlands Primary Healthcare is seeking an experienced Medical Biller and Coder to join our growing family medicine practice. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with proven expertise in medical billing, coding, revenue cycle management, and a strong background in family or internal medicine. This position is in-person or hybrid. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of The Woodlands, TX. Fully remote candidates will not be considered. IMPORTANT: Any individual or company reaching out about this position outside of this platform will be automatically disqualified.Key ResponsibilitiesAccurately code diagnoses, procedures, and visit documentation using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systemsReview and audit daily charts to ensure complete, accurate, and compliant codingPrepare and submit insurance claims to payers in a timely and compliant mannerMonitor and manage accounts receivable (A/R), including follow-ups on unpaid claims, rejections, and denialsInvestigate and resolve billing discrepancies with insurance providersCommunicate effectively with the clinical team to clarify coding and documentation requirementsMaintain comprehensive and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA guidelinesSupport revenue cycle processes to maximize reimbursementsRequired QualificationsMinimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in medical billing and coding, specifically in family or internal medicineStrong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systemseClinicalWorks (eCW) experience is required—please specify when you last used it and in what capacityFamiliarity with Trizetto (Gateway EDI) for claims submission and clearinghouse managementExperience with Availity for eligibility verification, claim status, and ERA/EOB retrievalComprehensive understanding of medical terminology and billing regulationsFull availability Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST)Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of The Woodlands, TXHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferredPreferred QualificationsCertification: CPC, CCA, CCS, or equivalentExperience coding for mammogram and/or ultrasound proceduresExperience with Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) billingPrior experience handling A/R follow-ups and denial managementFamiliarity with HEDIS quality measures and documentation standardsSkills & CompetenciesExceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent computer literacy and technical proficiencyAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical teamStrong problem-solving skills with a proactive approachAbility to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environmentIf you are dedicated to enhancing healthcare documentation accuracy, improving collections, and maintaining billing compliance, we'd love to hear from you!
