Morrissey Location: Middletown, CT Position Type: Temp-to-Hire / Possible Direct Hire Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM Pay Rate: Negotiable based on experience Position Overview J. Morrissey is seeking an experienced and certified Medical Coder for a healthcare organization in Middletown, CT. The ideal candidate will have strong hospital billing experience and a solid understanding of medical coding, insurance processes, prior authorizations, and collections. Responsibilities Perform accurate medical coding and ensure proper documentation and billing Review medical records and assign appropriate codes Work with hospital billing processes and insurance requirements Assist with prior authorization processes Follow up on outstanding balances and collection activities Review claims for accuracy and resolve billing discrepancies Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and internal departments as needed Maintain compliance with applicable coding and billing guidelines Support the revenue cycle process and identify potential billing issues Requirements CPC Required Previous hospital billing experience required Experience with medical coding and healthcare reimbursement Familiarity with prior authorizations and collections Strong understanding of insurance and billing processes Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong computer and communication skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment Why Join J.
