Job Description

$1453.70/week Job Summary: Provide accurate medical coding for acute care setting procedures and diagnoses, ensuring compliance with industry guidelines. Utilize advanced coding systems and tools to support billing and reimbursement processes. Responsibilities: Assign and verify ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and Encoder codes based on clinical documentation. Research and resolve coding issues to support accurate billing and reimbursement. Assist in training and mentoring junior coders to improve coding accuracy and efficiency. Maintain thorough knowledge of payor and federal billing guidelines to ensure compliance. Utilize 3M/HDS coding applications efficiently for coding tasks. Review outpatient and emergency department records to ensure proper code assignment. Qualifications: Possess a CCS certification and proficiency with 3M/HDS coding software. Demonstrate at least three years of clinical coding experience in acute care, outpatient, or ED settings. Have strong computer skills, particularly in MS Word, Excel, and coding applications. Exhibit knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. Hold a High School Diploma or GED; additional credentials such as AHIMA, RHIA, RHIT, CCP, or similar are preferred.
