Job Title Medical Biller / Collector
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team full-time. The role involves supporting the revenue cycle, ensuring accurate claim submission, timely reimbursement, and compliance with payer requirements for specialty medications, infusion services, and ambulance/EMS billing. Applicants must be within driving distance of the office.
Responsibilities Ensure accurate claims information, including patient data, diagnoses and procedure codes.
Submit claims on time to primary, secondary, and tertiary payers.
Follow up on denied or unpaid claims.
Obtain and verify prior authorizations for services, treatments, and procedures.
Review patient insurance eligibility and benefits to ensure coverage requirements are met.
Process all forms needed for insurance billing purposes.
Answer questions from patients related to billing.
Collect necessary documentation related to billing.
Act as a Revenue Cycle liaison between the practice and payers, maintaining complete and accurate file backups.
Qualifications Entry‑level medical billing experience or completion of a medical billing program.
Minimum of 3 years experience functioning as a full‑time medical biller (for certain positions).
Strong understanding of medical billing procedures and insurance guidelines from claim submission to payment collection.
Compensation Hourly rates range from $17.50 to $24.00, depending on experience and location.
