About the Role:
Bee Busy Wellness Center in Houston, TX is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing and Coder to join our growing team! In this role, you'll play a vital part in keeping our practice running smoothly by ensuring accurate and timely processing of medical claims. Responsibilities:
Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient records and medical procedures
Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance carriers, Medicare, and Medicaid
Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and appeals in a timely manner
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
Post payments, adjustments, and patient balances to accounts
Communicate with providers, clinical staff, and payers to clarify documentation and coding discrepancies
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims
Requirements:
1+ years of experience in medical billing and coding in a clinical or healthcare setting
Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
CPC, CCS, or equivalent medical coding certification preferred
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and practice management software
Strong knowledge of insurance billing, EOBs, and payer guidelines
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
