Responsibilities: Reviews, analyzes, and assigns codes based on appropriate coding guidelines and criteria for outpatient medical record documentation to include, but not limited to: medical, diagnostic and surgical documentation for assignment of the correct ICD-10-CM and/or CPT-4 HCPCS codes. Primary coding responsibility is Hospital Outpatient Surgery, Wound Care and Observation. Qualifications: Education H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required Work Experience Hospital coding experience Required Experience in coding at a multi-hospital organization and remote coding experience is Preferred Licenses and Certifications One or more certifications Upon Hire Required RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator or RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician or CCS-Certified Coding Specialist or CCA - Certified Coding Associate or CCS-P or CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H or Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) Preferred Piedmont Healthcare Corporate
