Inpatient CoderAssigns and sequences code for complex outpatient accounts according to established regulatory guidelines, industry best practices, and Infirmary Health (IH) policies and procedures. May also be required to assign emergency department charges, as needed.Minimum Qualifications:1 year coding experience in an acute care facilityKnowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiologyKnowledge of coding conventions: ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCSKnowledge of CMS coding requirementsProficient computer skills; ability to research coding questions and utilize educational resources requiredLicensure/Certification/Registration:Credentialed through American Health Information Management Association in one of the following:Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)Certified Coding Associate (CCA)ORCredentialed through American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) in one of the following:Certified Outpatient Coder (COC, COC-A)Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)Certified Professional Coder (CPC, CPC-A)Desired Qualifications:Associate degree
