Weston Distance Learning is currently seeking a Health Information Technology (HIT) and Medical Specialties (MS) Instructor tohelp train studentsin the area ofMedical Coding.This is a part-time work-from-home position with the instructor working from a home office using our online learning platform. Responsibilities include: Review and managecourses andexams, including grading and using innovative ways to provide content coaching. Focus on helping students through tutoring appointments,emailandonline messaging through our LMS. Model effective oral and written communication that engages the students, providing clarity, and improving student learning. Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students. Work with the Curriculum Department in conducting Academic Reviewsand other projectsto ensure content is relevant and current. Requirements include: Candidates mustpossessa minimum of a Bachelor'sdegree in Health Information Technologyor a closely related field. Musthave at least 5yearsfull-time workexperienceandbecurrently employed in theMedical Coding field. ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS,CPTand HCPCS knowledge and experience. Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC)andCertified Coding Specialist (CCS) withabilityto provideverification ofcertificationscores. Candidates must hold a degree earned from an institution accredited by an agency that is recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or, for non-U.S. institutions, an accepted foreign equivalent that is listed in the International Handbook of Universities (18th ed.)
