Must-Have: Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS, and CPT coding principles. Experience navigating electronic health records efficiently. Ability to abstract required data elements for computer entry. Strong familiarity with diagnostic and procedural terminology. Consistent attendance and punctuality in accordance with policy.

Description: We are seeking a contract-to-hire Certified Inpatient Coder. The role involves coding episodes of inpatient care accurately and completely. Candidates should be able to navigate the electronic health record system effectively. Identification and utilization of all available documentation to support accurate code assignment is essential. All required data elements must be abstracted for computer entry. Candidates should secure all necessary information for coding accuracy and follow-up on coding issues as needed. Staying informed about coding changes and guidelines, including participation in mandatory education, is required. Consistency in meeting departmental productivity and accuracy requirements is expected. Communication with supervisors regarding documentation needs or other coding-related issues is necessary. A strong understanding of diagnostic and procedural terminology and disease processes is important for successful code assignment. Maintaining required certifications is mandatory.
