Job Description The Medical Coder Certified is responsible for accurate coding, charge verification, and data abstraction necessary for billing in various professional healthcare settings. Works from the appropriate documentation in the medical record. Classification systems include ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, as well as other specialty systems as required by diagnostic category. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with established coding guidelines and regulations to guarantee proper reimbursement. Responsibilities Accurate coding, charge verification, and data abstraction necessary for billing. Work from the appropriate documentation in the medical record. Apply classification systems including ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and other specialty systems as required by diagnostic category. Ensure compliance with established coding guidelines and regulations to guarantee proper reimbursement. Qualifications Required: High School or GED Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in practical coding experience; expected to achieve > 95% accuracy rate during coding assessments.
