This role ensures proper coding compliance, supports accurate reimbursement, and maintains adherence to regulatory and documentation standards.What This Role AccomplishesThis position plays a critical role in revenue cycle operations by reviewing CPT and ICD-10 codes on claims to ensure accuracy, compliance, and appropriate reimbursement.Team EnvironmentThe Medical Coder will work as part of a collaborative team of 14 members, including:10 Coders2 Support StaffThe team is focused on accuracy, compliance, and maintaining high coding standards.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and assign CPT and ICD-10 codes to medical encounters and claimsAccurately review and code patient encountersCode operative (OP) reports with precision and complianceApply knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology to ensure correct code assignmentEnsure documentation supports assigned codesUtilize Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and reportingMaintain coding accuracy and productivity standardsRequired QualificationsMinimum of five (5) years of experience as a Medical CoderStrong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codingAbility to review and code medical encounters independentlyKnowledge of anatomy and medical terminologyProficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordActive certification from AAPC or AHIMAPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated ability to independently code operative (OP) reports
