Billing & Coding Specialist Full-Time Monday-Friday Competitive Pay Based on Experience Position Summary Magnolia Medical Clinic, P.A.is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing & Coding Specialist to support our growing multi-provider primary care practice.This position is responsible for accurate coding, claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up to ensure timely and compliant revenue cycle performance.The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities Coding & Charge Review Review and validate provider documentation for accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding Ensure appropriate E/M level selection based on documentation guidelines Verify modifiers and medical necessity requirements Provide feedback to providers on documentation deficiencies when needed Monitor payer-specific coding requirements and updates Claims Management Submit clean electronic claims daily through clearinghouse Scrub claims for errors prior to submission Track claim acceptance and resolve rejections promptly Ensure timely filing requirements are met Accounts Receivable & Follow-Up Work insurance AR aging reports (30/60/90days) Investigate and resolve denials and underpayments File corrected claims and appeals with proper documentation Maintain target AR days and collection goals Identify payer trends and report issues to Billing Office Manager Payment Posting Accurately post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient payments Reconcile deposits and ensure balancing accuracy Review EOBs/ERAs for underpayment patterns Patient Account Support Assist front desk and patients with billing inquiries as needed Review patient balances for accuracy Support eligibility and benefits verification processes Compliance & Reporting Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times Stay current with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer updates Assist with monthly revenue reporting metrics Support audit requests and documentation reviews Performance Expectations (KPIs) Clean claim rate >= 95% AR days within practice goal (example:= 99% Qualifications 2years medical billing and/or coding experience required Primary care experience strongly preferred CPC, CCS, or equivalent certification preferred Experience with Greenway Intergy (preferred) Strong knowledge of E/M coding guidelines Understanding of Medicare and commercial payer policies Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills Ability to manage high claim volume efficiently Education High school diploma required Work Environment Fast-paced outpatient medical clinic High daily patient volume Team-oriented but independent role Job Type:Full-time Pay:From $20.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Experience: Medical billing:2 years (Required) Work Location:In person.
