Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Biller role based in Scottsdale, AZ. The Medical Biller is responsible for accurately preparing, submitting, and following up on insurance claims, including commercial insurance, Medicare, and workers' compensation payers. Day-to-day tasks include verifying patient insurance coverage, reviewing clinical documentation for proper coding, entering charges, and ensuring correct use of ICD-10 and other billing codes. The role involves working denials and rejections, identifying causes of non-payment, and resubmitting corrected claims in a timely manner. The Medical Biller will also post payments, reconcile patient accounts, communicate with patients and payers about billing questions, and collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to support efficient revenue cycle operations. Qualifications Strong knowledge of medical billing practices and medical terminology relevant to musculoskeletal and orthopedic care. Proficiency with ICD-10 coding and related documentation requirements for outpatient and surgical services. Experience working with insurance carriers and Medicare, including verification of benefits and claims submission. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve denials, rejections, and underpayments to improve collections. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) and practice management systems, and general revenue cycle workflows. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple billing tasks and deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a professional approach to patient and payer interactions. Previous medical billing experience in an orthopedic, surgical, or specialty practice setting preferred.
