Job Description

Sweetwater Hospital Association is seeking a Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. The Medical Coder is responsible for accurately reviewing and coding medical records, assigning appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes, and ensuring documentation supports the services provided. The Medical Coder works closely with clinical and administrative staff to maintain accurate, compliant, and timely coding and billing information. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited medical coding program preferred. Current medical coding certification (such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent) preferred. Previous hospital or healthcare coding experience preferred. Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of applicable coding, billing, and regulatory requirements.
