Medical Record Technician (Coder-Outpatient and Inpatient)

Job TitleAllied Health ProfessionalDutiesThe duties include:Assigning diagnosis and procedure codes to inpatient admissions and outpatient encounters.Selecting diagnosis and/or procedure codes based on accepted practices with guidance.Identifying the principal diagnosis and/or procedure for every inpatient admission.Adhering to coding practices, guidelines, and conventions for ethical, accurate, and complete coding.Reviewing medical records to abstract relevant clinical, demographic, social, and administrative data.Assisting in orienting and instructing new personnel and students.Working within a team environment, supporting peers, handling multiple tasks, meeting goals, and adapting to changing projects and deadlines.Utilizing encoder software and Windows-based applications like Outlook, Excel, and Word.Work Schedule8am to 4:30pm, Monday through FridayPayCompetitive salary with regular increases. Higher step rate may apply based on qualifications.Paid Time Off37-50 days annually (13-26 days of leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid holidays).
