Certified Professional Coder IIAs a Certified Professional Coder II, you will be part of a dynamic team of Surgical Coders supporting patient care by driving accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines, governmental and private Third-Party rules, and regulations. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.What's In It for You:Hybrid work opportunity.Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and generous PTO.Retirement fund with matching contributions.Tuition assistance for qualifying team members.Reimbursement for AAPC or AHIMA membership fee.What You'll Do:Schedule: Monday – Friday, daytime hours.Perform monthly on-site visits to your assigned clinics.Review and code work queues assigned by applying coding principles for correct coding including sequencing.Query providers for clarification of incomplete or ambiguous documentation as appropriate and monitor for timely responses.Provide provider education and regular feedback on ICD-10 and correct coding issues.Evaluate and identify front-end and back-end error trends for training needs and bring them to the attention of the coding manager.Communicate and participate in departmental meetings and initiatives involving coding and the revenue cycle enhancement process.Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of all procedures concerning the sequencing of diagnoses, procedures such as but not limited to those outlined in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and CMS guidelines.What We're Looking For:Required:Licensure: CPC-A, CPC, CCS-P, COC, CMC, RHIA, or RHIT credentials are required.High School Diploma or GED.2+ years of healthcare experience with at least 1 year of professional coding experience.Working knowledge of Current Procedure Technology and Terminology (CPT), ICD-10 CM, and HCPCS coding.Ability to effectively communicate and work with patients, physicians, staff, and administration.Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Able to perform self-audit of work and awareness of the impact on revenue cycle.Preferred:Surgical coding experience to include critical care and/or trauma.2+ years of medical terminology experience and customer service experience in a clinic setting.Direct provider communication experience.Job Opening ID 184236
