Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet our department productivity standards.Comply with all legal requirements regarding coding procedures and practiceFamiliarity with ICD-10 codes, CPT/HCPCS codingEnsure correct coding compliance for procedures performed for various specialtiesWork in high volume medical coding environment while maintaining exceptional standards of excellenceRelays any necessary information to appropriate clinic staff and providersParticipates in educational activities and reports needed information to Manager and ProvidersMaintains expert knowledge of coding workflow and optimizes use of available technologyResponsible for helping review insurance denials related to any coding issuesWorking knowledge of medical terminology and anatomyConduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and preciseCollaborates with Clinic Manager, Providers and Business Office Manager to ensure claims are satisfied timely.QualificationsEducation and/or ExperienceAssociate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must work well in a team environmentAbility to communicate well with other team members in a courteous mannerProtect PHI and follow HIPPA guidelinesRequired to meet department quality and production standardsMaintaining and satisfying minimum attendance requirements is an essential function of this position including working full-time regular hours as established.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsEquivalent to an associate's degree in medical information technology (with course work in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, ICD 9 CM coding and prospective payment) required.
