About the role The Medical Billing Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the payment of medical bills related to Sharing Request Submissions that are received. This includes communicating directly with members through written and verbal communication, and communicating with providers to make sure that payment is received in a timely manner. What you’ll do Adhere to all company, department and position policies and procedures. Manage the Medical Need Submissions received from members which includes creating the record within the system, obtaining additional information for determination, processing provider & member payments, creating medical bills for payout, and communicating status with member. Coordinate payment to providers and members in a timely manner. Support in email inbox management. Support in managing and addressing phone call inquiries. Keep members and providers informed about medical needs through regular written and verbal updates. Continuously strive to meet and exceed member expectations, ensuring a high level of member satisfaction. Remain flexible and adaptable to changes in job responsibilities or procedures to meet evolving organizational needs. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 1–2 years previous Customer Service experience Attention to detail Time Management skills Professional level of verbal and written communication Thrives in a fast‑paced work environment Proficient in Microsoft Suite Experience working with 2 monitors, and multiple programs running at the same time Ability to sit for up to 8 hours a day and look at dual computer screens Typing speed of at least 45 WPM Experience preferred Experience working with and interpreting medical bills, statements, receipts and medical records Familiarity with HIPAA Experience or familiarity in working from a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system Benefits 13 paid holidays, including birthday and personal preference day, plus up to 3 weeks of paid time off to balance work and life.
