GRADE 21 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH, Holly Center, Salisbury, MD Main Purpose of Job This position provides on‑site direction of nursing practices and nursing care for the night shift (10:45 PM - 6:45 AM), including weekends and holidays for MDH - Holly Center, a residential facility for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position is responsible for overseeing adequate and safe nursing resources that include staffing, equipment, and supplies. This position also supports direct care staff to ensure safe, effective high quality care. During occasions when there are staffing shortages, this position will also provide medication management to the residents in the facility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses. Experience: Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include one year in a supervisory, administrative or teaching capacity and two years in the Medical option. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university for one year of the required general experience. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master’s degree in Nursing or a health related field from an accredited college or university for two years of the required general experience. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing and Hospital Administration specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year‑for‑year basis for the required experience. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS Current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing or a current multi‑state license in the primary state of residence. Operational duties that require driving require possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license in Maryland. Requirement to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification.
