Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Specialist – Must-Have Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required
1+ years of medical billing, collections, accounts receivable, reimbursement, or revenue cycle experience
Knowledge of insurance claims, EOBs, denials, appeals, and payment posting
Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding preferred
Experience working with EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Specialist – Position Summary We are seeking experienced Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Specialists for multiple healthcare organizations throughout the Tulsa area. These opportunities may include medical billing, insurance follow up, collections, accounts receivable, coding support, reimbursement, prebill review, and revenue cycle operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with insurance companies, resolving claim issues, managing patient accounts, and ensuring accurate reimbursement while maintaining excellent customer service and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Specialist – Essential Duties & Responsibilities Submit, review, and follow up on medical claims with commercial and government payers
Investigate and resolve denied, rejected, unpaid, or underpaid claims
Work accounts receivable aging reports and insurance follow up
Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and payment discrepancies
Contact insurance companies and patients regarding outstanding balances
Establish payment arrangements and assist with patient billing inquiries
Verify insurance eligibility, patient demographics, and authorization information
Review and correct billing edits prior to claim submission
Assign or verify CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes as applicable
Submit appeals and corrected claims when necessary
Post payments, adjustments, and maintain accurate account documentation
Maintain accurate records within EMR/EHR and billing systems
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer guidelines, and healthcare regulations
Collaborate with providers, front office staff, and revenue cycle teams to resolve billing issues
Identify billing trends and recommend process improvements
Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Specialist – Additional Qualifications Experience with medical billing, collections, reimbursement, coding, or revenue cycle operations preferred
Knowledge of physician office, hospital, pathology, surgical, behavioral health, or specialty clinic billing is a plus
Experience working with payer portals and insurance verification systems preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent accuracy, time management, and organizational abilities
Ability to prioritize multiple accounts while meeting productivity goals
